Software commands for S53MV gyrocompass

Alphanumerical 16x2 LCD module + one pushbutton

Sequence of initialization menus at power-on:

(1) Display version. Long depression >>> go to (5) Compass calibration menu.

(2) Magnetic compass operation. Long depression >>> remain in this menu,
exit: cycle power off/on.

(3) Gyroscope operation. Long depression >>> (6) Copy GYRO into RAM OFFSET.

(4) Normal operation. First row: Gyrocompass CDI bargraph and 3-digit gyro
heading. Second row: yaw-rate bargraph and 3-digit magnetic heading. Gyro
heading and offset slaved to magnetic heading with long time constants.

Short depression: copy magnetic heading into gyro heading, reset CDI.
Very long depression (>10sec): (7) Copy GYRO OFFSET from RAM into EEPROM.

(5) Compass calibration menu:

First row: east offset (signed), east gain, north offset (signed),
north gain. Second row: gyro offset (can not be changed in this menu).
Short depression: increment/decrement parameter marked with +/-.
Long depression: change +/-, change selected parameter in first row and
write modifications into EEPROM. Exit: cycle power off/on.

(6)Copy GYRO into RAM OFFSET:
  GYRO-OFFSET

After a short interval >>> go to (4) normal operation.

(7) Copy GYRO OFFSET from RAM into EEPROM:
